Torrential Rain, Floods Hit Afghanistan’s Farah Province

(MENAFN) Intense rainfall followed by a sudden flood resulted in the death of one individual and left four others wounded in western Afghanistan’s Farah province on Monday evening.

The provincial head of the National Disaster Management Authority, Mohammad Israel Sayar, stated Tuesday that “Heavy rain and flash flood claimed one life and injured four others.”

The authority’s representative emphasized that his department has already arranged essential supplies, including shelters, food provisions, and blankets, to support up to 1,500 households should the number of victims and displaced families rise and the circumstances demand further assistance.
